wow…all that violence at the protest yesterday is SOOOO weird to see in hong kong. i didn’t go to the protest because i was working…i watched it unfold on TV and seeing all those people attack the police was so weird to see. hong kong people don’t take out their anger in that form – so i hope this doesn’t impact any of our protests in the future…

let’s see what happens over the next few days…

finished recording some more vocals for the CD last night!!! some tough melody on their with more harmonies…my voice is trashed right now!!!

    okay…bed time…peace

yo – WTO is in the house…so far the protests have been good and peaceful…today’s the first official big one though so we’ll see what happens…i’d like to go but it starts at 11am. what the hell? people don’t have to work? not all of us work for big huge multi-corporations…some of us actually work in schools where our time and energy is spent on readying tomorrow’s leaders – can’t go missing with my job…

god the new Beloved DVD – the one of their very last show…they were such an awesome band…they had a weird mix of heavy parts in their basically emo-rock music…the heavy parts don’t always seem to fit – and on the DVD they seem even more weird…but oh well…they still were a good band…i think this is the last of that genre of music that really got me…all the other stuff that has come out just doesn’t sound original at all…bands like Funeral For a Friend, the used, etc…they’re all good bands – but i just don’t get it…maybe if it was my first time listening to those types of bands i’d think they were great…but its not the first time…

    ANYWAY…i digress…

our little good news is that we’re playing End of Suffering at this sunday’s LLNR show!!! we’re super excited…we heard from our bro glenn that the LLNR show last sunday was pretty cool. he was bummed though because NONE of the guitar amps worked. what? that’s so strange…we had band practice that night and he had to take a taxi all the way to our bandroom to borrow one of Hardpack’s guitar amps! that’s crazy! hopefully the LLNR crew will have everything figured out by this sunday’s show…can’t wait!

well well well…had a chance to get away from hong kong last saturday so that was nice…i came back to HK quite refreshed…i also came back to a nice email from our pals at Records Rendezvous that the Killswitch Engage DVD was finally in…i watched a little bit of it before i left my house – then watched the whole damn thing at band practice! :-) its such a good DVD…the documentary part is so frickin’ funny – we were all laughing so hard…so much silliness that it inspired us to start doing some stupid stuff at our shows too…hahahahaha…

the Beloved dvd is in too – i picked it up but haven’t had time to check it out yet…still rocking over the killswitch DVD…

gotta get out of here…so sleepy…looks like we’re going to be distributing our CD ourselves. what a pain in the ass that’s going to be…but you have to do what you have to do.

i don’t know if you guys have seen the new Bleeding Through DVD but its so long…its so long and really frickin’ boring…i guess it really is a “fans” DVD – and i’m more a fan of the music then the people in the band. you know what i mean? their lyrics to me have some power – but only power…their lyrics have never really provoked me to think about anything besides anger…which is kind of pointless – anger is usually a feeling that is covering up some other deeper issue…

anyway – the first Live Life No Rules charity show is tomorrow night – if you have time please go check it out…i hope i can go – i don’t know yet, we have SO MUCH to do for this band…i hope i have time…

we have an E-Card for our new album coming up…should be up soon…

here’s an interview with one of my all-time favorite punk bands Propagandhi: http://punknews.org/article.php?sid=14768&mode=thread&order=0&thold=0 do you remember when punk rock and hardcore actually used to mean something? it wasn’t just about the music…and to me hardcore wasn’t about fashion. it seems all of that has been forgotten…we’re as much culprits i guess…we too have really begun to concentrate on the music and have not done enough to promote the message. we do what we can – but its not enough…to me hardcore is about meaning something – there should be meaning in everything you do in your life…that’s what i believe…living a meaningless life is such a sad life…when you’re dying and look back at what you’ve done – you’ll probably be filled with regret. “why did i work so hard at my job? what if i took the time off to go take photographers? would i have become a famous photographer?” i think its these “what if” questions that would kill me when i’m on my deathbed…what if i packed up bags and just left HK to tour with a band in the states? what would’ve happened? would that have helped open doors for a possibility to play in a full-time touring band there? who knows…what if i spent less time working and more time out doing charity work? how many innocent homeless or orphaned children’s lives could i have made happier? aaaaahhhhh…so much to think about…so little energy.

this is what i hate about winter…when it gets cold, it usually gets gloomy out with dark skies…i don’t want to wake up in the morning (unlike most of you – my work requires me to wake up at 6am – YES, it is stiil dark when i wake up to go to work…that is weird) and just want to lay in the bed. the worst part is that all of this mixed together always gets me depressed…just not fun. its weird though, i actually like when its cold…i like the cold winters in HK…i just don’t like the depressing nature of winter…

our guest vocalist for one of our songs on our upcoming CD recorded last night – SOUNDS SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO awesome…makes that song so so so so so sick…hopefull we’ll be recording backing vocals next week and start the mixing process…

we don’t have a distributor for the CD so that sucks…HK sucks like that for local bands…

yesterday was my girlfriend and my 4th anniversary…i didn’t even get to see her because i had to go to the studio to help with our guest vocalist…
my girlfriend puts up with so much bullshit because of this band…i don’t know why she does, but she does. i think it’s probably the same case with andy and pong’s girlfriends as well…we’re lucky to have such patient girlfriends even though i’m sure every single one of them wants to kill us sometimes. what can we do…we don’t even know if what we’re doing is worth it…sometimes you wonder “what exactly are we doing?”. what’s the point of all this stress, all this strain on our families, relationships, and our own psyche? is it worth it? when in 10 years we’re still playing at the warehouse – is it worth it? who knows…we keep trudging on because either we’re really committed OR really stupid. time will decide…

depressing news…our good friends from Wuhan have been trying to get us to play a huge music festival in Gui Lin (Gui Lum) in china on the 24th of Dec…they say that the festival expects about 4,000 people at the show. everything was taken care of and finally – yesterday i received an email from the organizer who said that we can’t play – because we’re still on a blacklist with the Ministry of Culture of China…that’s because of that taiwan show we played a couple years ago…

it sucks…it sucks knowing that we can’t play at any big shows in china because of our STUPID STUPID STUPID mistake…i want to write a letter to Ministry of Culture to say how sorry we are for making such a stupid stupid mistake and that we ARE proud to be Chinese…ALL OF US!!! but my girlfriend thinks they won’t care about a tiny little band like us….SUCKS so much…

anyway…going to bed…peace…it sucks knowing that we can’t play somewhere…a horrible horrible feeling…i hope that we can someday go back to China to play shows…to play big shows and do a tour…we haven’t played in china in many many years…

whats up everyone…just got back from the studio – finished my vocals for 3 of the songs and one more left to go…i’m bummed that i have such limited singing on the songs now – but oh well, that’s the price i have to pay to be able to have more fun on the guitar…

anyway – it all sounds awesome…the new version of Terror is totally killer…its going to kick all your assess…tonight i’m going to go in to record my vocals a brand new song that’s going to be on the CD that none of you have heard…can’t wait…

our plane tickets for our european tour are SOOOOOOOOOOO expensive…SUCKS…but hopefully it’ll all be worth it…hopefully we’ll be able to make some awesome connections and come back again…

    going to bed…

250,000 people…that’s what the rough estimate is from yesterday’s breath-taking protest!!! it was so awesome to be there and see all those people…the coolest was to see all these elderly people there marching and screaming the loudest…they were even louder then us young people – for some reason it felt like they wanted to make SURE that the next generation of Hong Kong people had even better lives then they have had in Hong Kong. to be able to choose our own chief executive of Hong Kong is our right – that’s for sure. no one is asking for the chief executive to be chosen tomorrow. the question about 2007/2008 is hard to say – i don’t think that is going to happen…but when will it happen? why won’t the government and tell HK people when we’ll be able to choose our leader? in 2012? in 3012? WHEN?

i have to apologize to everyone that supports King Ly Chee…i did NOT do a good job about promoting the march. we should not have spent so much of last week wasting time promoting our TVB show. that was very selfish of me. there are MUCH MORE important things going on in Hong Kong then this little band. the TVB thing was a big deal for King Ly Chee – but yesterday’s protest and march was even more important. it was even more important for us ALL to go march together with the rest of HK’s citizens to fight for something that IS ours.

i hope that some of you went…it was a beautiful day, surrounded by beautiful people…i am so happy that i went with my girlfriend to show our support…i wish i got to meet Anson Chan!!! :-) i would’ve asked for her autograph for sure…if she ran for Chief Executive i would vote for her RIGHT NOW!!!

i’m sorry that i did not fulfill my responsibility in promoting something as important as yesterday’s march…but i do hope that even if you didn’t go that you were supporting the marchers…let’s find out what’s next for Hong Kong.

WOW! what a crazy day for us yesterday! it was awesome though…both shows were fun – though the warehouse show seemed very empty and a lot of the usual people who make Warehouse shows fun weren’t there either so that was kind of weird…but the Guangzhou bands were rad! if all the rest of the Guangzhou bands are just as good as those bands then things have SERIOUSLY progressed by light years up there! :-) if you missed it – both bands were very The Used, Funeral For a Friend, etc…that type of stuff…good at what they play…it was a late show unfortunately and most people were gone…our own emo powerhouse The Lovesong frickin’ ruled last night…we had so much fun playing the warehouse show and it was mainly since we were so tired that we were just being silly! hahahaha…the faces i was making with ming was fun…going to try and incorporate silly faces at every show! hahahaha…

the TVB show…dude where to begin…that is one WEIRD experience. you know the saying “busing people in”? they actually DO do that at TVB shows…they bus “fans” in for their TV shows etc. its so crazy…TVB i guess rents out double decker Citybuses and picks up the “fans” and brings them to the venue. the funny thing is that, these “fans” are stuck on the bus until the show actually starts. yesterday’s show was outdoors and these fans arrived a little bit early on the bus. soundcheck was still going on so the bus driver didn’t let them off! HAHAHAHA…these fans were stuck on the bus for like 30 minutes! isn’t that crazy?! weird…

anyway – the only thing i can say is a big “thank you” to all our dear sweet friends and supporters who came out to the TVB show…that was so amazing to see you all there and truly TAKE OVER TVB…incredible…and then some of you guys/girls actually ALSO came to the warehouse! i can’t believe that…i can’t believe people would do that for us…unbelievable…thank you so much – words can’t express our gratitude…

THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING YESTERDAY!!! we are SOOOOOOOO tired now…need to sleep for like days…

alright…just got back from the rehearsal at TVB city…dude – that’s FAR away! to all of you who are going to come check out this show – thank you so much for coming SO FAR out to support us! that means so much…

i think the rest of the guy’s are quite comfortable with the onstage sound – i don’t like it…but oh well – still should be cool. they’ve told us that no stagediving and no “circle pits” are allowed. yeah right…let’s see what happens…all if have to say is that the sound IS loud – and the stage is totally cheesy – totally TVB style stage…funny shit actually…but we do have to say a big thank you to them for inviting us to play. its a total surprise that they asked us to come to play at this thing…i still don’t understand why they’d call us cause our music is anything BUT pop…but anyway…

    okay – going to bed…
